✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The investigations reported are concerned with the spore forming process of Clostridium butyricum by means of selective media, the production of spores, the germination potential in vitro and in vivo, the serological determination of antisera against spores and rods of Cl. butyricum as a basis for a biologically early detection of cancer.
Besides the data reported in the literature our own experiments were aimed at obtaining a medium for optimal production of spores including the prescription of the equipment.
By using agglutination and precipitation tests (OUCHTERLONY‐test) rabbit antibodies against spores or rods, respectively, could be demonstrated.
Preliminary methods of histological as well as fluorescence‐serological characterizations are discussed with regard to locating the antigens in the tumorous tissue.
