## Abstract In this work, a new property for the generalized scattering matrix of microwave networks is derived and numerically verified. Apart from its theoretical significance, this property can be very useful for rapid verification of numerical methods such as Mode Matching among others. © 2007

Abstract
A general method for calculating the scattering matrix of an arbitrary microwave networks is presented. Compared to existing methods, it uses a simplified algorithm that makes no distinction between external and internal ports. It thereby achieves algorithmic simplicity, and provides waves internally in the network as well as scattered waves at the ports. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
