Temp,~+'ing by (,bmpres,vio,. [Jour. Frank. lnst, Meteoric Organisms.--Carl ~.Togt has carefldly examined the peculiar fi)rmations which were found in meteorites by M. Hahn, ill order to satisi~ himself whether their structure is organic. By a detailed comparison with living and tbssil sponges, corals and crinoids, he arrives at the conclusion that the forms are entirely inorganic. He thinks that they are duc to the presence of an opaque incrusting material, aided by optical illusions which arise from an incomplete method of micro~opi(, research. His observations go to show that the figures are all composed of transpm'ent crystalline fraglnents, arranged in various ways, hut most commonly in eohnuns, or tuff,% ramified or radiating from a (-entre. The intx.rstices are filled with an opaqne substance which is but slightly affected by acids, and which mimics organic structtu'e.
