The dissociation of metastablc ions derived from the title compounds by electron impact ionization af 70 eV is cornpared to their infrared rnultip~~-proton dissociation (IR XIPD'J. it is shown that XR VPD results can be undersrood in terms of up-pumping of long-lived ions, whose lifetimes are in the microsecond time window.
