✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The possible reactions of metal ions and complexing agents with metal enzymes are discussed. Complex formation between 2‐hydrazino‐lepidine and 1‐hydrazino‐phthalazine, chelating agents of similar structure, with Fe^2+^, Zn^2+^ and Co^2+^ has been studied. There is a marked difference in the behaviour towards Fe^2+^.
