The reduction of nickel loaded mordenite and silica catalysts has been studied'by magnetic, volumetric and spectroscopic methods. Data related to changes in the nickel phase occurring during oxygen and hydrogen heat treatments are presented and discussed. The results indicate that the reduction of i
