Metal-faced rotary seals target arduous applications
P ioneer Weston has combined two areas of Eriks Group's expertise to develop a new range of metal-faced rotary seals for arduous applications.
The new range draws on a combination of the firm's experience of designing, developing and manufacturing mechanical rotary seals, and O-ring elastomeric materials and design technology developed by Eriks, its parent company.
Designed to be used both as a replacement item and as an OE fitment part they are targeted at applications such as wheel hubs and axles on off-road vehicles, tracked vehicles, quarrying and mining machinery, and heavy-duty waste processing equipment. The range is composed of a broad mix of standard sizes and dimensions to accommodate the widest range of applicationspairs of seals with an ID ranging from 38 mm to 1.5 m are available from the company.
Lee Murray, Technical Manager, Pioneer Weston, commented: 'Our move into supplying metal-faced seals is a case of satisfying a niche market with the best available technology.' 'The addition of a range of custom developed elastomer seals from Europe's market leader Eriks just completes the package, enabling us to tailor each seal combination to the exact, ideal specification for each application -be it a frequently used tracked vehicle on a farm or construction site or a vibratory screen in a quarry environment.
