The first half of the book, particularly, includes information on tyrothricin, penicillin, streptomycin, dihydrostreptomycin, bacitracin, aureomycin, chloramphenicol, terramycin, polymyxin, neomycin, mycomycin, viomycin, and subtilin, of special interest and use to practicing pharmacists. The first chapter of the book deals with the isolation and the development of the antibiotics and includes definitions of terms. Each chapter is preceded by a photograph and a short biographical sketch of the discoverer of each antibiotic.
