Based on a relativistic potential quark model approach for the nucleon and (1232), the electroproduction amplitudes of the (1232) resonance are calculated. The important effect of the pion meson cloud is stressed. Different predictions for helicity amplitudes and electroproduction amplitudes are obtained compared to the nonrelativistic constituent quark model.
