✦ Synopsis

. A mixture of 1.57 g (5 mmole) compound XV in i0 ml acetic acid was refluxed until the precipitate had disappeared.

The reaction mixture was then cooled, diluted withwater, and the resulting precipitate was recrystallized from alcohol. Yield 1.2 g (76%). The physical chemical properties of benzoxazine XVI corresponded to those reported in [13].
