โœฆ Synopsis

By hanging properly the preparation onditions, it is possible starting from the same polymer to obtain asymmetri membranes with different morphology and U .F . performan es . The SEM ross-se tion give us information about the overall stru ture . Unfortunately these results are not enough, as the membranes properties mainly depend from the thin dense skin layer poorly resolved with the SEM te hnique . On the other hand, reje tion and fluxes investigated with the onventional U .F . pilot units only supply an indire t information about skin layer pro .

perties . With the purpose to improve the knowledge on this topi s, we have developed an automati porosimeter based on the ombined bubble pressure and solvent permeability method in order to obtain the pore number and radius distribution of the membrane in wet onditions . Despite some problems related to the absolute values we have obtained some interesting results both for new and used membranes .

## Abstract The major and minor sialoglycoproteins of the bovine erythrocyte have been solubilized and extensively purified. A comparison of composition revealed that the major glycoprotein had 77% carbohydrate and 23% peptide, and the minor one had 27% carbohydrate and 73% peptide. Molar ratios of
