With the increase in the technical capabilities to perform iMRI by various groups around the world, the level of interest in the manufacture of the MR-compatible instrumentation has increased manyfold. Whereas manufacturers of MR-compatible instrumentation were few in 1994, there are now more than 50 identified sources (see Table 1). The authors trust the list is complete; omissions are inadvertent and result from the flux of activity in the field.
