Mechatronics is a new emerging discipline challenging the traditional engineering thinking and practices. The Chinese-German School of Applied Sciences (Chinesisch-Deutsche Hochschule fu ¨r Angewandte Wissenschaften, CDHAW) is an educational project of the Chinese Ministry of Education (MoE) and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), implemented by the Tongji University and a consortium of German Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS).
