✦ Synopsis

The purpose of this meeting is to focus on recent advances in the biology of metastasis and how these advances might be utilized in the prevention, preclinical recognition and treatment of metastatic cancer. The misconceptions and controversies surrounding the feasibility of curative treatment of metastatic disease will be discussed. Topics to be,covered include tumor cell heterogeneity, enzymes involved in invasion and metastasis, tumor cell-host cell interactions, noncytotoxic adjuvant therapies, prostaglandins, anticoagulant therapies, and cellular and monoclonal immunotherapies.
