✦ Synopsis


lt is shown that autosynergistic phenolic sulphides are effective non-discolouring antidegradants for vulcanised natural rubber. They are in general more effective in non-sulphur vulcanisates (peroxide and thiuram) than in the conventional polysulphide rubbers. There is evidence that the processing and vulcanisation operations may play some part in the transformation of the antidegradants to more active products.
