Stmmary: Clostridium acetobutylicum fermented glucose, arabinose, and xylose with a conversion of carbon source into solvents of 32, 29, and 28% respectively. The growth yields (g cells per g sugar) were similar on the three sugars, but glucose or arabinose were consumed in preference to xylose and
