โฆ Synopsis
This patent describes a tandem radial shaft seal that is specifically designed for automotive cooling systems. A partial vacuum may be applied to the system for leak testing and then filling. This can cause a conventional lip seal to vent air inwards. This seal has a support ring on the atmospheric side of the lip that is composed of an inelastic plastic either entirely or at least in its edge region. The purpose is to act as a close clearance to limit inward venting of air.

This patent is concerned with the duo-cone type of mechanical face seal that is used in earthmoving equipment applications. Elastic layers (28, 29) are used on the conical surfaces of the seal rings and housing respectively. The purpose is to inhibit entrainment of debris.
Dynamic mechanical analysis is performed on polybenzoxazines from acetylene-terminated benzoxazine monomers, and glass transition temperatures of these polybenzoxazines are found in the range of 329 -368ยฐC. It has been identified that the high glass transition temperature and high thermal stability
