β¦ Synopsis
We report for the first time on mechanical properties of anodically formed, self-organized TiO 2 nanotube layers on titanium. We compare their behavior in their virgin state and after conversion to their semi-metallic form by an acetylene treatment. We show that the acetylene treatment leads to significant enhanced hardness, tensile strength and friction behavior.

Fe-doped TiO 2 powders were obtained by mechanical alloying. The starting materials were anatase TiO 2 and metallic iron (a-Fe) or hematite (a-Fe 2 O 3 ). The influence of different milling conditions such as: ball to powder weight ratio, milling time, rotation velocity of supporting disc, and dopan
The nanocrystalline anatase TiO 2 colloid has widely been applied in solar energy conversion, photo-degradation of organic pollutions, photochemical disinfection, processing of sensors, and papermaking. It can be obtained from the hydrolysis of titanyl organic compounds [TiO(OOCCH 3 ) 2 and Ti 2 O(O
Nanosized anatase TiO 2 -coated kaolin composites were prepared by the chemical deposition method starting from calcined kaolin and TiCl 4 . The resultant TiO 2 nanoparticles on the kaolin surfaces existed in anatase phase after calcination at 200, 400, and 900 Β°C for 1 h, respectively. The surfaces
