✦ Synopsis
This paper reports the results of a study to evaluate the effect of composition and temper on the mechanical properties and formability of corrosion-resistant modified Al᎐2.5 Mg alloys. The modified alloys contain iron, silicon, manganese and chromium, in addition to magnesium. The effects of composition and temper were evaluated using the elastic modulus, ultimate tensile strength and strain, percent elongation, and the strain-hardening coefficients of the modified alloys obtained from tension test experiments. The mechanical properties and formability of the investigated alloys were affected to various degrees by both composition and temper.
