✦ Synopsis

The selection of a wound closure tape should be based on comparative mechanical performance data. In this study the performance of Shur-Strip TM, Steri-Strip ~, and Clearon TM wound closure tapes was evaluated by a battery of performance tests that measured tape adhesion, porosity, breaking strength, and elasticity. On the basis of these in vivo and in vitro measurements, Shut-Strips TM are recommended for wound closure.
