✦ Synopsis

n o and P0 are the carrier densities for equilibrium,/~n and~zp the mobilities of electrons and holes respectively. In the intrinsic range, the drift mobility disappears; such a material can therefore not be measured by drift experiments.

The flying spot method gives a diffusion mobility which is given by

/~,u//= (no + Po)lC(nol~t,) + (Po//~,)]. (3)

This mobility does not disappear for intrinsic material. The described method may therefore be regarded supplementary to the now classical drift method of S h o c kley, Pearson and Haynes.
