✦ Synopsis

Measurements of the pressure vs. temperature along the melting curve of 3He are presented. Cooling is obtained by adiabatic demagnetization of copper nuclei and these measurements extend below 1 inK. The results support conclusions about the entropy of solid 3He drawn from measurements on the heat capacity of the solid, and confirm the temperature scale inferred from measurements in Pomeranchuk cells.
