## Abstract In this work, a numerical procedure based on the continuum model is developed and applied to the solvation energy for ground state and the spectral shift against the position and the orientation of the interfacial molecule. The interface is described as a sharp boundary separating two b

✦ Synopsis
One of several problems with seat absorption is that only small numbers of seats can be tested in standard reverberation chambers. One method proposed for reverberation chamber measurements involves extrapolation when the absorption coe$cient results are applied to actual auditoria. Model seat measurements in an e!ectively large model reverberation chamber have allowed the validity of this extrapolation to be checked. The alternative barrier method for reverberation chamber measurements was also tested and the two methods were compared. The e!ect on the absorption of row}row spacing as well as absorption by small numbers of seating rows was also investigated with model seats.

A recirculatory model for the portal±systemic blood concentration difference (P±S difference) was developed to separately evaluate the rate and extent of absorption from the gastrointestinal tract into the portal system and disposition of a drug in the body. ## Abstract A New technique for the rapid measurement of ultrasonic absorption with a sampling interval of 5 msec has been developed and applied to the kinetic study of denaturation and subsequant redution of hen egg‐white lysozyme. The lysozyme is denatured by guanidine hydrochloride (GuHCl) orLiB
The pharmacokinetics of pafenolol, a highly selective /?,-adrenoceptor antagonist, have been studied in starved and unstarved rats. Separate groups received intravenous doses (0.3 and 3.0pmol kg-I) and oral doses (1 and 25pmol kg-I). The systemic clearance of pafenolol was constant in the dose range
A mixed effects model is developed for cross-over trials in which the response is measured repeatedly within each time period. Relative to previous work on repeated measures cross-overs, the methodology synthesizes two important features. First, our procedure eliminates preliminary testing for carry
