โฆ Synopsis
We report photovoltaic constant and photoconductivity of Ce,Mn:LiNbO 3 crystals. Using the DC electric field dependence of nonphase-matched second-harmonic generation, photovoltaic constant and photoconductivity were deduced from an analysis of the observed relaxation behavior of space-charge field at two different light intensities for photorefraction. In Ce,Mn:LiNbO 3 crystal, the photovoltaic constant and photoconductivity were determined to be 1.0 โข 10 ร8 A/W and 1.1 โข 10 ร16 X ร1 cm ร1 at the intensity of 0.3 mW/cm 2 , respectively. The photovoltaic constant at 514 nm is at least three times larger compared to that in iron doped LiNbO 3 .
