A technique based on small amplitude ac impedanceldc polarization is introduced to determine the diffusion coe!kients of neutral ligands (ionophores) in plasticized PVC membranes used for ion selective electrodes. The diffusion coefficient of ETH129 in a 33 wt."! PVC-NPOE membrane was measured to be _ 1.5 x lo-*cm2 s-l using this technique.
