A superconducting cable consisting of a several layers is described theoretically. Discretised equations are given that can be used to describe the current distribution in the cable as a function of cable current. Solutions are worked out for the case of an ideal Bean type II superconductor, taking

The current imbalance and the inter-strand coupling losses are studied for the 3x3twisted superconducting cables exposed to the temporally-changing external magnetic field or carrying the temporally-changing transport current. The current distribution is calculated based on electrical circuit models
