✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A highly biaxially oriented isotactic polypropylene was obtained by stretching and rolling repeatedly. In such treatment, it was confirmed by x‐ray examination that the 010 spacing was oriented parallel to the plane of rolling.

The structural changes produced by aqueous swelling and stretching in cotton is found to be irreversible. This article presents the X-ray angle data of six varieties of cotton that belong to Gossypium hirsutum. A marked decrease in X-ray angles was found in all treated samples, thereby indicating be

The orientation of the noncrystalline (amorphous) phase in poly (ethylene terephthalate) fibers is analyzed by separating the amorphous scattering in the wideangle x-ray diffraction patterns into isotropic and anisotropic components. Two parameters are used to characterize the amorphous orientation-
