✦ Synopsis
A method for measuring the translational diffusion coefficient of a photochemically stable molecule by the transient grating method is proposed. For obtaining optical modulation, the difference between the optical properties of the ground and the excited triplet states is utilized. This method is applied to the measurement of D of hematoporphyrin in acetone.
