## Abstract Experiments indicate that secondary ice crystals are produced when rime grows in a supercooled cloud containing drops β‰₯ 24ΞΌm in diameter. This occurs between temperatures of βˆ’3 and βˆ’8Β°C, the production rate being greatest at βˆ’5Β°C. These temperatures are constant to about Β±0.5 deg C for
