✦ Synopsis

The differential cross section for the 'Be(d, n)'B reaction at E,,=S.S MeV has been measured using a 'Be beam produced by the radioactive nuclear beam facility at the China Institute of Atomic Energy. The 8B ions were detected in full geometry with a two dimensional position sensitive AE-E counter telescope. The reaction cross section was determined to be 58+8 mb. The angular distribution data were analyzed with a distortedwave Born approximation calculation. The astrophysical Sir(O) factor for the 'Be@, y)*B reaction was derived to be 27.4k4.4 eV b through the asymptotic normalization constant extracted from the experimental data.

We study the breakup reactions of 8B projectiles in high energy (50 and 250 MeV/u) collisions with heavy nuclear targets (2°spb). The intrinsic nuclear wave functions are calculated using a simple model, as well as a simple optical potential. We demonstrate that nuclear effects are negligible and ev
