✦ Synopsis

The magnetocaloric effect of EuS was measured in the vicinity of its ferromagnetic ordering temperature, that is, .between 5 and 25 K. The results confirm the potential advantage of using EuS as a magnetic refrigerant, as indicated by previous theoretical studies.
