✦ Synopsis

A method has been developed for the measurement of peak concentrations of extinguishing agents. The values will be used to provide design data for total flooding automatic systems. The values obtained are outside the true limits of flammability and therefore contain a built-in safety factor. The significance of these measurements is discussed in relation to the protection provided by an automatic system.

## Abstract Concentrations of the vasodilator isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN) in human plasma can be measured with good sensitivity (about 0Β·2–0Β·5 ng ml^βˆ’1^) using electron‐capture gas chromatography after a one‐stage extraction. The mean recovery of ISDN from plasma was 83 per cent Β± 9 standard deviat
