Coherent inelastic neutron scattering results have beet: obtained from a singe crystal of hydrogenous (hydrogen content 44 at.%) I-methylthymine. The resuits have been directiy titcrpreted as acoustic phonons and effective elastic constants determined at 150 and 296 K.
