In this paper we investigate the angular distribution of muons at large depths in rock• The use of an adjoint approach allowed us to get an exact equation for the mean square scattering angle of muon. The calculations of {0~,) were performed with the complete account of energy-loss fluctuations in processes of bremsstrahlung, knock-on electron production, pair production and photonuclear interaction.
