โฆ Synopsis
The complex phase behavior encountered in supercritical separations is well described by the meanfield lattice-gas model. The treatment in its present form proved to be capable of predicting the fluid phase behavior of supercritical solvents over the technologically important region with parameter values based on just a few well-choosen experimental data points. For mixtures, the model predicts solid-liquid and fluid phase equilibria with the same accuracy even in the near-critical region. Againithe values of the two binary parameters can be based on scarce experimental information. First attempts have been made to describe multicomponent systems with the MFLG-model. Results for the system nitrogen-n-hexanepolyethylene are promising.
