Dow debuts breakthrough olefin elastomer family
Dow Chemical has launched a new line of olefin elastomers called Infuse olefin block copolymers (OBCs). The OBCs feature improved performance and processing properties due to their amorphous-semicrystalline block architecture. The materials provide advantages such as enhanced flexibility and high-temperature performance, rapid processing setup, and increased resistance to abrasion. Infuse OBCs can be used in moulded products, foams, hoses, extruded profiles, and elastic fibres. The materials are currently manufactured in a market development facility in Freeport, TX, USA. Dow has signed a joint research contract with Japanbased Mitsui Chemicals to speed up creation of catalyst systems for OBC production.

## MARKET PROSPECTS the best option was to reuse the P-54 project to build the P-62. In effect, Petrobras intends to "clone" platform P-54. The P-62 will be a FPSO (Production, Storage, and Off-loading) type unit capable of producing 180 000 barrels of oil per day, of storing 1.8 million barrels
