The principle of maximum entropy is used to develop a procedure for obtaining the best fit to a spectral distribution within the context of molecular timescale generalized Langevin equation theory Results are obtained for a single-vibron model and compared with previously computed results. Excellent agreement is demonstrated and the maximum entropy approach is shown to be a robust procedure.
