A pBR322-derived plasmid pKEN221 carrying a Serratia marcescens lpp gene overproduces the outer membrane lipoprotein in an Escherichia coli lpp- cell. However, when this strain was continuously cultured in a rich medium for about thirty generations, many Lpp- mutants were accumulated. Out of six mut

Abstract
Let (x~n~) be an isometric interpolating sequence or a sequence of trivial points in the spectrum of H^∞^. It is shown that either every cluster point of that sequence has a maximal support set or there exists y ∈ M(H^∞^+C) such that the support of x~n~ is contained in the support of y for infinitely many n. Similar results for Gleason parts are obtained, too. We also investigate the H^∞^‐convex hulls of countable unions of support sets and show that whenever supp x ⊂ supp y and x /∈ $ \overline {P(y)} $, then the H^∞^‐convex hull of supp x does not meet $ \overline {P(y)} $. ## Abstract A visible tephra horizon in the NGRIP ice core has been identified by geochemical analysis as the Fugloyarbanki Tephra, a widespread marker horizon in marine cores from the Faroe Islands area and the northern North Atlantic. An age of 26 740 ± 390 yr b2k (1__σ__ uncertainty) is derived
Two compact pulse sequences are reported for the volume-selective detection of 13C nuclei. 13C signals are either directly acquired after enhancing the amplitude by polarization transfer from the coupled protons or, preferably, indirectly detected by heteronuclear editing of proton signals of 1H nuc
