A mathematical model of flow-injection analysis @IA) is developed for a pseudo-first-order chemical reaction in a straight reaction tube. Analytical expressions are derived for the first three moments of the peaks of the sample and product of the chemical reaction. A comparison with the available numerical analysis and experimental results is given. The application of the model to FL4 optimiiation is described.
