✦ Synopsis
UmschaulCurrent Events I BuchbesprcchungenlBook Reviews 579
The primary aim of this meeting is to document new developments for testing of materials, building components, buildings and structures and to intensify international cooperation in this important and growing field of building research. It is directed to all institutions and experts engaged in non-destructive evaluation in research, administration and industry.
The three day symposium will give the opportunity to discuss technological trends, testing equipment and applications. It will also inform about research policies in different countries and help to establish joint research projects.
Contributions to this symposium should focus on testing methods used in construction and for the condition assessment of buildings and other structures.
Within this scope, the symposium will deal with both the development of new NDT-CE methods and experiences or applications in general. Objects of investigations are building components, buildings, structures and material analysis or evaluation in-situ, non-destructively or quasi non-destructively. Special attention will be given to preventive inspection systems, which help to identify damage or structural failures under the categories of public safety and economic aspects of construction.
Abstracts of contributions to the symposium are invited for all topics of non-destructive testing in civil engineering. Papers of international interest and those providing latest results and having significance for the construction process will be chosen for oral presentation.
All abstracts will be reviewed by the programme committee and, if accepted, either chosen for oral or poster presentation. The presenting author will be informed of acceptance of the contribu-tion and receive instructions concerning the presentation before May 15, 1995. Please send abstracts to the symposium secretariat according to the instructions overleaf before February 28, 1995.
