Abstract

In this paper, a matched load termination of a finite‐length line is used to represent an infinite feedline structure in FDTD simulations. A generator with an internal resistor—which is matched to the input port—is employed to excite the feedline, with a view to achieving a low reflection at the truncation point. A patch antenna, whose feedline is truncated in this manner, is used as an example to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed technique. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. ## Abstract Usage of a dielectric multilayer around a dielectric sample is studied as a means for improving the efficiency in multimode microwave‐heating cavities. The results show that by using additional dielectric constant layers the appearance of undesired reflections at the sample‐air interfac
