Grain boundary grooving at an internal solid-solid interface has been studied in the Ni-A&O, system. The measured kinetics constants for the growth of the Al,O, grain boundary grooves are found to agree with the calculated values using the coupled diffusion analysis, the measured solubilities and th

β¦ Synopsis
A method is developed for analysing coupled diffusional processes which may occur during solid state reactions. The procedure described here ensures that constraints imposed on the system and the criterion of minimum rate of entropy production are simultaneously satisfied. Composition and volume constraints are considered. The final results of the analysis are compared with previous work in this field. The multidimensional partition model, which combines the k-space description of magnetic resonance imaging pulse sequences with a partition concept, has been developed to model flow-related effects. A partition represents the magnetization created due to excitation by a given radiofrequency pulse. I
