An enhanced structural stability of water-ammonia mi\cd clusters has been observed via molecular-beam-mass speclrometry. The mixed clusters exhibit distinct intensity rna..ima at (Hz0)20(NH&,Hf (m = l-5) and a less pronounced one at (H20),7NH: in the mass spectra. Tllesc intensity anomalies arc discussed in terms of the stabiity of ion clathrate structures with an io'n trapped inside.
