The mass spectra of all isomers of methylnitropyrazoles are reported. Generally, the spectra are characteristic of nitropyrazoles. In some cases however, ortho effects occur, recognizable by primary losses of, for example, OH^.^, H~2~O, CHO^.^, CH~2~O.
