✦ Synopsis

This paper is a personal recollection of some ofthe events and research that surrounded the amino acid sequence determination of the hypothalamic releasing, factor, TRF (now known as T R H ) , by mass spectrometry (MS), and the development of reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) M S and tandem M S ( M S / M S ) methods, for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of native opioid neuropeptides in human pituitary tissue extracts.
