β¦ Synopsis
The perhydrosyl species HO2 has been observed in 1 atm Hz-02-N2 flames and its flame concentration determined as a function of flame composition and position. Also the oxidation of small additions of CO to these flames has been observed and the results favor the reaction, OH + CO -CO2 + Ii, rather than the alternative process, HO2 + CO+ CO* + OH.
