✦ Synopsis
Amino-4H-pyrido[4,3-dj[ 1,3]thiazine Derivatives
Several heterocycles may exist in tautomeric forms. Mass spectral data on these classes of compounds may highlight the utility of the technique for their structure elucidation/ confirmation. The possible tautomerism of some recently synthesized 2-amino-4H-3,1-thiazines, which also exhibit antifungal activity, led us to investigate their mass spectral fragmentation under electron impact (EI) conditions.
Certain cyclic amides and thioamides (including 1,3-thiazines) are known to exist in imino and enamine forms' (Scheme 1).

## Abstract The mass fragmentation behaviour of 3,4‐dihydro‐1__H__‐2,3‐benzothiazine 2,2‐dioxides was studied. The rationalizations suggested are supported by accurate mass measurements, metastable evidence and deuterium labelling.
