β¦ Synopsis
In this paper, the analysis and design of a manufacturing planning and control system from a decisional point of view is demonstrated.
The work presented is based on the results of a EUREKA research project, FORCAST.' An appropriate manufacturing planning and control decision model can be developed for a particular enterprise by using a design methodology which identifies the system needs and requirements, outlines a procedure for realising the functionality of the system and models the decisional aspects, using an appropriate formalism, in relation to the defined functional architecture, time dimension and informational requirements.
