Manufacturing companies urged to focus on new markets

Manufacturing companies from across the south of England have been urged by Mike Cambridge, Environmental

Director from Knight Piesold, to make the most of the funding and commercial opportunities offered by the European Commission to help local companies develop markets for new materials and technologies.

Speaking at the 'Materials Matter' Conference, Mike highlighted how Knight Pitsold had successfully applied for BRITE EURAM funding to develop their expertise in mining and waste disposal.

Robert Patten, Manager of the South England Information Relay Centre, said: 'The funding opportunities are excellent, under just one programme, known as CRAFT, the delegates to the Conference could receive a total of lm to support the development and commercial exploitation of new technologies.'

Delegates received presentations highlighting both the business and funding support opportunities available to European companies from a number of organizations including South of England Information Relay Centre, DERA and NASURF.
