nitriles are hydrogenated over a synthetic crystalline zeolite catalyst containing Cu and at least one other metal such as Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Zn in a ratio of (99:1)-(10:90), without hydrogenating the olefinic bond, to give the title amines.
